How Photographic Cameras Work – Aperture
The fourth part of a mini course looking at the fundamental controls of the photographic camera. In this video we will about the aperture, how it can be used to creatively control the depth of field, and explain what the f-numbers actually refer to.
The course is less than an hour long but takes a deep look at the most important camera controls- the ISO, shutter speed, and aperture- and examines how these relate to each other and how they affect the images we produce.
Having worked with photography students for more than 15 years, I found that many do not have a firm grasp of these basic concepts even after years of practice. Hopefully, this short course will clarify these very important concepts and allow you to use your camera with confidence.
