How Photographic Cameras Work – Using Camera’s Built-In Light Meter
The sixth part of a mini-course looking at the exposure triangle and fundamental controls of the photographic camera. In this video we will look at the camera’s built in light meter and how using it in manual mode may actually make our exposures both faster and more consistent.
The course is less than an hour long but takes a deep look at the most important camera controls- the ISO, shutter speed, and aperture- and examines how these relate to each other and how they affect the images we produce.
Having worked with photography students for more than 15 years, I found that many do not have a firm grasp of these basic concepts even after years of practice. Hopefully, this short course will clarify these very important concepts and allow you to use your camera with confidence.
